Helping You Recover From Sports & Activity-Related Injuries
SPORTS INJURIES WE TREAT
Sports injuries can happen suddenly or develop gradually from repetitive movement, training, or overuse. Whether you're a competitive athlete or simply want to stay active, we evaluate your joints, muscles, and movement patterns to identify factors that may be contributing to your injury.
Shoulder, Elbow & Wrist
Repetitive throwing, swinging, lifting, and racquet sports can contribute to shoulder, elbow, and upper-body injuries that affect strength, mobility, and performance.
Hip, Knee & Ankle
Running, jumping, cutting, squatting, and repetitive activity can contribute to problems involving the hips, knees, and surrounding muscles and joints that can stem from muscle imbalance and poor movement patterns.
Weight Lifting & Overuse
Tendon irritation, muscle strains, repetitive stress, and training-related problems can gradually limit movement and performance. Identifying contributing factors can help guide an appropriate recovery plan.

SPORTS INJURY TREATMENT
Recovering from a sports injury isn't just about feeling better—it's about restoring the movement, strength, and function you need to return to your activities with confidence. At Olivieri Family Chiropractic, we evaluate your injury and how your body moves to develop a personalized approach based on your condition, activity, and goals.
Joint restrictions, stiffness, and limited mobility can affect how you move and perform. Chiropractic care and targeted mobility work may help restore more comfortable movement and improve function.
Restore Mobility
Rebuild Strength & Function
When appropriate, we incorporate corrective and rehabilitative exercises designed to improve strength, stability, and movement patterns related to your injury and activity.
Return to Activity
Our goal is to help you progress from injury toward the activities that matter to you—whether that's golf, pickleball, running, strength training, recreational sports, or simply staying active.
BUILT FOR ACTIVE PEOPLE
You Don't Have to Be a Competitive Athlete
You don't have to be a professional athlete to have a sports injury. Many of our patients simply want to stay active, exercise, compete recreationally, and keep doing the things they enjoy. Our approach is built around understanding the demands of your activity and helping you return to it safely and confidently.
The repetitive rotation and force of the golf swing can place significant demands on the lower back, hips, shoulders, and neck. We evaluate mobility and movement patterns that may be contributing to pain or limiting your game.
Golf
Pickleball & Racquet Sports
Quick changes of direction, reaching, rotation, and repetitive swinging, as well as the wrong size equipment, can contribute to shoulder, elbow, back, hip, knee, and lower-leg problems in pickleball and other racquet sports.
Running & Endurance
Repetitive loading can contribute to problems involving the hips, knees, lower legs, feet, and lower back. We look beyond the painful area to identify mobility, strength, and movement factors that may be contributing.
Strength Training & Fitness
Lifting and training place demands on mobility, stability, and technique. We help identify factors that may be contributing to pain including poor form and alignment so you can work toward returning to training and staying active.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sports Injury
SPORTS INJURY FAQ
Have questions about sports injuries or chiropractic care? Here are answers to some of the questions we frequently hear from patients at Olivieri Family Chiropractic in Cohasset.
-
Answer:
Chiropractic care may help with certain sports and activity-related injuries involving the joints, muscles, and other musculoskeletal structures. At Olivieri Family Chiropractic, we evaluate your injury, alignment, mobility, strength, and movement to determine what's contributing to your symptoms and whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you.
-
Answer:
We commonly evaluate and care for shoulder impingement, rotator cuff tendonitis, bursitis, tennis/golfer’s elbow, hip flexor injuries, knee pain, foot pain, pronation issues, and sprains and strains in the neck, back and extremities.
-
Answer:
Not at all. Many of our patients don't consider themselves athletes—they simply want to exercise, play golf or pickleball, run, lift weights, or stay active without pain limiting them. Your care is based on your condition, activity level, and individual goals.
-
Return-to-activity timelines vary depending on the type and severity of the injury, your examination findings, and how you respond to care. Rather than using the same timeline for everyone, we'll evaluate your progress and help you determine when and how to gradually return to your activities.
-
Answer:
Not every sports injury requires imaging. Whether X-rays or other diagnostic imaging are appropriate depends on your symptoms, health history, mechanism of injury, and examination findings. If imaging is clinically indicated, we'll explain why it's recommended and how the findings may help guide your care.
